Description: Two studies started in 1964 tested control of dense understory vegetation in Hawaii rain forests with herbicides applied by a large turbine blower spraying from widely spaced bulldozer lines. Brushkiller and Tordon 101 were effective on shrubs. Results on treefern were poor, but encouraging enough to merit additional study.
