Summary
The effects of new tree plantings on climate and building air conditioning use over a 5-yr period at Air Force housing complex and civilian site in Tucson, Arizona. The long term benefits (energy, air quality, carbon, water quality and quantity) and costs (planting, pruning, water use, removal, infrastructure repair) of these plantings were quantified.
