Research Interests/Duties

Elena is a PhD student with the Geography Graduate Group at UC Davis. She studies natural resource economics in relation to urban forestry and valuation of urban ecosystem services. She received an M.S. in Forestry and Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid in 2005 and was awarded a fellowship from the European Commission to work towards an M.S. in European Forestry in Finland, Sweden, and Austria. She has also completed an internship at the Department of Forest Products Markets and Socioeconomics of the European Forest Institute headquarters in Joensuu, Finland.
