Research Interests/Duties
Photograph of Yosemite ToadRob is an aquatic ecologist at PSW. He has worked for the Forest Service the last 10 years on various management and research projects in the Sierra Nevada. His desire to study amphibians, in part, is a response to the relatively recent epidemic of notable amphibian declines in the High Sierra. He completed his master's degree in conservation biology from California State University, Sacramento investigating the relationship between introduced trout and Yosemite toads. Rob is interested in researching components of amphibian community structure/ecology to better understand and protect native species. He is currently working on an adaptive management study: Determining the Effects of Livestock Grazing on Yosemite Toads (Bufo canorus) and their Habitat.
