Analysis of Allozyme Data

There are a number of computer programs for analysing genetic data scored from the gels. Each program has somewhat different capabilities; no one being totally comprehensive.
At the Institute of Forest Genetics allozyme data is analysed using the BIOSYS-1 program developed by Swofford and Selander at University of Illinois in 1981; and with other analytical programs.

Genetic analysis programs are available from the Internet:

The programs calculate various parameters including:

allele frequencies: Proportions of the different alleles
heterozygousities: Quantifying variation within a popln.
Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium:	Randomness of mating test
chi squares: Test significance of differences
	F statistics: Differentiation of populations
	genetic identity/distance:	Similarity of populations
clustering algorithms: Similarity dendrogram of populations

	and others...
