There are a number of computer programs for analysing genetic data scored from the gels. Each program has somewhat different capabilities; no one being totally comprehensive.
At the Institute of Forest Genetics allozyme data is analysed using the BIOSYS-1 program developed by Swofford and Selander at University of Illinois in 1981; and with other analytical programs.
