The Institute of Pacific Islands Forestry has been a center of research and technology transfer for matters of management, preservation, and restoration of natural ecosystems and landscapes throughout the Pacific. the Institute's area of responsibility includes seven US affiliated political entities in the Pacific: the State of Hawaii, the Territory of Guam, the Territory of American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of Palau.
