  Starkey Long-Term Data

This is the first release of long-term data collected as part of the Starkey Project. These datasets include:

Starkey Telemetry & Habitat Data Tables

Telemetry data was collected from spring of through fall for the years 1993 through 1996. It is stored in a text-based table that includes more than 287,000 observations acquired from animals in a natural setting. Taken as a whole this dataset constitutes one of the richest animal telemetry datasets ever gathered. The frequency of data-gathering activity suggests many possibilities for additional analysis.

The habitat data lists one row of environmental and ecological vabiables for each of the 85,969 pixels in a fixed 30 m x 30 m grid that covers the entire Starkey Experimental Forest and Range.

Both of these data tables can be imported into any standard relational database framework.

Starkey Maps
This CD also contains a series of map coverages for Starkey. These coverages are for the most commonly recognized natural and man-made physical and ecological features. They are stored in ESRI Interchange Format, a commonly used medium of exchange for GIS vector and raster maps.
