My research interests are diverse, covering a broad range range of topics in molecular genetics, plant population genetics and plant evolutionary genetics. Examples include: evaluating the pattern and pace of molecular evolution at the level of DNA sequences and proteins; using molecular markers to provide insight into the evolution of various taxonomic groups (namely, the pine genus Pinus) and to characterize fragmented populations of management concern; and using molecular, cytogenetic and population genetic methods to gain insight into the dynamics of co-occuring diploid and polyploid populations of a single species.
