- Named PNW Research Station Director in November 21, 2002. Reports
to the Station on or about January 2, 2003.
- Rocky Mountain Research Station. Assistant Director for Research,
Ogden, Utah (December 30, 2001 to December 2002).
- Quigley joined PNW Research Station in 1977 as a range conservationist
at the La Grande, Ore., laboratory. He held a variety of leadership
positions: resource analyst (1977-1980); economist (1980-1986);
range scientist (1986-2000); manager, Blue Mountains Natural Resources
Institute (1992-1993); science integration team leader, Interior
Columbia Basin Ecosystem Management Project (1993-2000); program
manager, Managing Disturbance Regimes (1996-2001).
- Recipient of several awards including: USDA Secretary Honor Award
(2001) for leading the science efforts of the 8-year Interior Columbia
Basin Ecosystem Management Project, USDA Superior Service Award
(1990) for outstanding leadership of the Oregon Range Evaluation
Group, and the Earle A. Chiles Award (1998) for leadership in integrating
science and management to find solutions to natural resource issues
in the interior Columbia basin. Quigley was a corecipient with Jeff
Blackwood.
