Wildfire and Breeding Bird Communities on Pine District
Principal Investigator: Rex Sallabanks (Sustainable Ecosystem
Institute)
Other Partners: Douglas Lisle (Pine Ranger District, Wallowa-Whitman
NF)
This study was intended to determine the effects on avifauna of
an innovative salvage harvest within the Twin Lakes Burn of Pine
District (summer 1994). Avifauna data were collected spring 1995
and 1996, and one of the sampled units was harvested later in 1996.
A third year of data will be collected in spring 1997.
