ADAPTIVE MANAGEMENT RESEARCH

Limber Jim is one point in an adaptive management cycle, meaning that this study incorporates information we learned from previous studies.

This study should be considered a management experiment. Results from this experiment can be applied to a larger scale.

Science needs to be put to work. Reliable information gathered through a management experiment such as this needs to be transferred as quickly as possible to forest managers who put the new knowledge to work in larger scales.

This study collected information on economics and environmental effects simultaneously, and can therefore allow the manager to assess tradeoffs.
