MAPSS Home > Research > USGCRP ResearchU.S. Global Change Research ProjectIn 1990, Congress enacted the Global Change Research Act to enable research into the global environment, its natural variability, and human impacts on it. Under this act, the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) was established as a Presidential Initiative. The USGCRP is an interagency research effort coordinated by the Subcommittee for Global Change Research (SGCR) of the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources (CENR) of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). Ultimately, findings from this research effort will be incorporated into national and international policymaking processes on global change issues.
