Maureen Kennedy
Maureen
is a quantitative ecologist. Her current research project at FERA
is improving the process of classifying fuels and quantifying fuel
loads in the FCCS
using the best available data including satellite imagery. She has
also produced a neutral
model for fire history to evaluate the use of spatial distributions
of scarred trees to infer historical fire regimes.
Maureen's general research interest is the improvement of the use
of models in ecological research, with an emphasis on the use of
multi-objective
optimization and Pareto optimality.
Support for her work with FERA comes from the NASA-funded project,
"Development
of Decision Products for Spatial Quantification of Carbon Emissions
from Wildfire for North America."
