FCCS Fire Potentials
The FCCS fire potentials are calculated based on the intrinsic characteristics of fuels, without consideration of environmental conditions (i.e., weather, wind and slope).  The potentials are designed to allow managers to compare and communicate the degree of fire hazard of a fuelbed.  The potentials may also be used to map fire hazard or evaluate the effectiveness of fuel treatments.

For each fuelbed, the FCCS calculates:
