Using the FCCS Fuelbeds
FCCS fuelbeds provide a starting point or baseline. Each variable may be modified to capture the complexity of fuels across time and space. You may also wish to reduce the complexity of fuelbeds to represent a coarser scale of interest. 

For example, managers in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest may create a custom fuelbed that represents an actual site (Figure 1) or wish to create a fuelbed representing general fuel conditions for each forest type within their district or planning unit (Figure 2).
