The Fuel Characteristic Classification System
(FCCS)
is a simple but comprehensive software tool. The FCCS:
- Allows designation of fuel
properties and fire potentials across landscapes.
- Stores and classifies fuels
data as fuelbeds.
- Enables users to create and
store customized fuelbeds in the FCCS.
- Predicts surface fire behavior based on
fuelbed inputs, calculated characteristics, and input environmental
variables.
