Conference Description
Purpose: This conference will present knowledge and
technology transfer theories, methods, and case studies toward improving
the ability of forest science organizations to understand how to successfully
influence the adoption of innovations they generate.
Scope: Theories, methods, and case studies will be
presented about innovations generated from forest science organizations
throughout the world.
Topic: Theories related to technology transfer, diffusion
of innovations, adaptive management, and multistakeholder collaboration
will be included.
Methods for transferring new forest concepts, practices, technologies, and
information will be described. These methods will emphasize strategic approaches
that use interpersonal communications, mass communications, networks, commercializations,
and other ways of influencing the use of forest science innovations.
Case studies will be presented that illustrate a variety of ways that innovations
in forest science have successfully been adopted for use by forest managers,
policymakers, communities, and others.
Target Audience: The audience includes scientists, research managers,
communications and technology transfer specialists, and extension service educators
and specialists.
Duration: Two-day conference, poster session, and a
field trip.
