Mission: The mission of the Science Delivery Team is to compile and display scientific information, identify key results, deliver scientific findings relating to current and emerging high-priority topics in natural resource management, and develop methods to communicate these findings in ways to facilitate their application.

 

ABOUT US

The Science Delivery Team is a division of the PNW Research Station's Focused Science Delivery Program. Our team's work focuses on the development of techniques for information sharing and collaboration by groups and individuals from within and outside government, and the development of innovative ways to transfer scientific information for use in policy debates, land management decisions, and public discussions.

 
RESEARCH AREAS

The Science Delivery Team is responsible for development of the types of activities and products listed below.


arrow Facilitation of technology transfer of integrated research findings to federal, state, and private land managers in the Pacific Northwest.

arrow Providing mechanisms for sharing and communicating synthesis products to policy and decisionmakers in the Pacific Northwest.

arrow Creatively exploiting opportunities to present and discuss science findings regarding priority topics within the Pacific Northwest to a variety of audiences.

arrow Proactively sharing significant science findings and encouraging interaction with regional and local managers on key topics relating to decisionmaking.

arrow Synthesizing existing scientific knowledge and developing conceptual frameworks, tools, methods, and information for multiscale assessments to inform policy and decisionmaking processes within the Pacific Northwest.

arrow Overseeing the development of methods for monitoring the effectiveness of land management strategies, and providing research to support successful implementation of adaptive management in the federal land use planning processes.

arrow Developing new methods to communicate science findings in innovative ways to facilitate their application.

arrow Explaining clearly and concisely why certain policy and management questions cannot be answered by using existing science information and suggesting credible ways to gather the needed information.
