Success Stories: ERDAS Imagine and ArcView Online Tutorials

As time and training dollars become scarcer, online trainings and tutorials are becoming more valuable.

The USDA Forest Service Remote Sensing Applications Center, in cooperation with the Geospatial Advisory Committee and the Geospatial Service and Technology Center, have developed two online applications that deliver short tutorials intended to address many of the FAQs for ArcView and ERDAS Imagine. The ERDAS Imagine application currently delivers interactive documents and narrated step-by-step movies for over 40 topics (Image-1); the ArcView application delivers similarly formatted documents and movies for almost 30 topics. In the last six months we have recorded well over 1000 visits to these two sites—with overwhelmingly favorable response.

To access these applications, point your browser to: http://fsweb.geotraining.fs.fed.us/ and click on the FS Tutorials picture. From there you can choose either the ERDAS Imagine tutorials or the ArcView tutorials.
