     The Forest Service personnel office will no longer post
vacancy listings on the home page that are not open to the general
public.  Only a fraction of the vacancies previously listed were
available to the public.  The personnel office is currently reviewing
processes for posting just those vacancies that are available to the
public.
     Since the agency often fills permanent positions from applicants
who already have worked for the agency as a temporary or volunteer,
we encourage you to check your local Forest Service office for such
positions.  A listing of Forest Service offices are available at:
