| Round Lake Logging Dam Trail |

Walk back in time along this universally accessible
interpretive trail and cross the historic Round Lake Logging Dam.
Close your eyes to imagine the loud cries of "T-I-M-B-E-R"
from past logging activities. Feel the water's spray and rush
of heavy logs and they pile through the timbered sluices, clamoring
downriver on the spring log drives.
Trail Length: 0.5 mile
What to expect: A trail guide and system
of numbered posts serve to guide you around the half mile trail
and provide you with information about the logging era and Round
Lake. An interpretive display adjacent to the trailhead's parking
area provides additional insights into the fascinating history
of the area.
Directions: From Fifield, drive east on Highway
70 for 20 miles. Turn left (north) on Forest Road 144 and drive
2 miles to Forest Road 535. Turn right (east) on 535 and continue
to the trailhead parking.
