Bike Association (CAMBA) Namakagon Cluster |
This
is a very popular mountain bike trail system. To make the bike
trail more interesting and correct problems on the ski trail,
the bike trail is being reconstructed in 2003 and 2004 to move
it off the Rock Lake Ski Trail. The maps show the revised mountain
bike trail system. Two bike trails originate at the Rock Lake
Parking Lot Trailhead.
Trails beginning at the Rock Lake Parking Lot
(park fee required)
Rock Lake Bike Trail - 12.1 miles, 75% single
track; 7K Cutoff - 4.8 miles, 90% single track; Emerson
Cutoff - 10.1 miles, 67% single track; Glacier Trail - 8.3
miles, 53% single track.
What to expect: The trails beginning at Rock Lake are
predominately single track mountain bike trails. While the trails
traverse steep, difficult terrain, they are designed to be rideable
by bikers with itermediate ability. In many places one has the
feeling of riding on the edge of a steep drop off. The bike trail
gives a marvelous tour of the small lakes and scenic spots in
the Rock Lake area. CAMBA
has excellent detailed trail maps of the cluster. The
maps include narratives of the trail route for people who cannot
read maps. The excellent signing on the trails makes getting lost
difficult.
Directions to the Rock Lake Parking Lot:
Drive east from Cable 8.5 miles on County Highway M. The parking
lot is on the right (south) side of the road.

What To Expect: The trails beginning at the Namakagon
Town Hall begin with a narrow single track trail climbing out
of the parking lost. The middle sections of these trails are easy
riding old woods roads. The trail returns to the Town Hall on
a narrow single track.
Directions to the Namakagon Town Hall Trailhead:
From Cable, drive 11 miles east of County Highway M. The town
hall is on the right (south) side of the highway.
