Day Lake Fire & Safety Hazard Reduction Project

Description of the project:  On April 25, 2008, Great Divide District Ranger Constance Chaney issued a Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact to reduce wildfire and safety hazards within the Day Lake camping, picnic, and boat landing areas by salvaging the dead and dying jack pine, thinning red pine, and treating the logging by chipping, piling and/or burning. Nine stands will be treated for a total of about 244 acres.
