Green Alder Sawfly has been detected in the contiguous United States.

The 2009 aerial survey of forested lands in Oregon and Washington -- done via a partnership among Oregon Department of Forestry, Washington Department of Natural Resources, and USFS Pacific Northwest Region -- has been completed. Download the GIS files for 2009 or previous years.

View the 2009 Forest Health Highlights for Oregon and Washington. Highlights and Insect & Disease Conditions Reports from previous years are also available at our Forest Health webpage.

All Forest Insect & Disease Leaflets (FIDLs) are now available on-line.

Create your own insect & disease maps interactively!  The new FHP Geospatial Portal (created by the Forest Health Technology Enterprise Team) provides easy access to national data from insect and disease surveys and risk maps of forest mortality.

Here's a new identification tool for service entomologists and plant pathologists, available through either Washington State University or Oregon State University. Registered users can submit digital images to experts for diagnosis; the emphasis appears to be on agricultural situations, but there may be some forest entomology / pathology applications.
