Recreation Facility Analysis
Previously referred to as Recreation Site Facility Master Planning, Recreation Facility Analysis (RFA) is an analysis process developed nationally to help forests take a strategic look at their developed recreation sites. This process helps each National Forest evaluate their developed recreation sites and better align them with the unique characteristics of the forest, the current and projected recreation demand, visitor expectations, and the funds and revenue available to cover costs of operation and maintenance. All National Forests and Grasslands have been asked to take a close, detailed look at each of their developed recreation sites and develop a 5 year proposed program of work. The goal of the Recreation Facility Analysis process is to design and deliver a sustainable developed recreation site program for all National Forest visitors.
