St. Maries River Basin Fuels Reduction Project
The St. Joe Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests is considering a proposal to reduce fuel accumulations in close proximity to residences and developed areas in the St. Maries River Drainage. The project areas were identified through a collaborative effort with Shoshone and Benewah Counties.

The Kootenai County Local Emergency Planning Committee received a grant to prepare a wildland urban interface fire mitigation plan to identify actions and priorities for reducing wildland fire risk. This plan includes a variety of measures designed to reduce the impact of wildland fires in Kootenai County.
GeoMAC - Geospatial Multi-Agency Coordination
The Geospatial Multi-Agency Coordination Group or GeoMAC, is an internet-based mapping tool for accessing online maps of current fire locations and perimeters in the conterminous 48 States and Alaska.
