Summers
Frequency: Annual
(please include target audience, costs to participants, and program plans):
This program trains youth ages 15-17 to be summer naturalists in the Children's Forest. The students learn to guide walks, give presentations to special groups, and to give campground talks. They present programs along the Children's Forest Trail on ecology, geology, and history of the region. The positions are on a volunteer basis, and students must provide their own transportation. However, for those who complete the entire summer, there is a $500 award stipend.
