Brief Description

This is a winter ecology environmental education program for 5th and 6th graders. The theme of the program is the ways animals adapt to their winter environment. The indoor component of the program is a slide show and a discovery room with hands-on activities and crafts. The outdoor component is a one hour snowshow hike into the forest. The students eat lunch in a historic building by a fire, and drink hot chocolate. The program takes about four hours. The cost is $2 per student, to fund the snowshoes.
