Field Sampled Vegetation (FSVeg)
Field Sampled Vegetation (FSVeg) stores data about trees, fuels, down woody material, surface cover, and understory vegetation. FSVeg supports the business of common stand exam, fuels data collection, permanent grid inventories, and other vegetation inventory collection processes.

This video shows how to install the Exams software for use on a PC and PDR to support electronic data recording of Common Stand Exam (CSE) data.
Exams Software for FSVeg
Data collection software has been developed and tested on each of the following devices. Selecting a device will download a self-extracting file containing the software for that device, similar software that runs on any Windows XP desktop or laptop, and help files.
Desktop or laptop computers using a version of the Windows operating system prior to Windows 2000 (i.e., Windows 95, 98, ME) may produce unpredictable behavior. If this is the case, please upgrade to Windows XP.
The data collection software has not been tested with either Windows VISTA or Windows 7 operating systems.
If your device is not listed look for a device with a similar platform and chipset. For additional information on individual devices, see CSE Compatible Windows CE Data Recorders. If you are not sure which device to select contact the PDR staff for assistance.
Other Software
- CasioIT700V7.zip (03/23/2012, 86k) - contains the software that allows you to deactivate the Casio's record button.
- examspc_v02.21.2012.exe (03/23/2012, 14.0M) - contains only the PC version that runs on any Windows 95 (or higher) desktop or laptop. This requires that ActiveSync is installed on your desktop/laptop.
- ActiveSync 3.8 (03/23/2012, 3.8M) - download ActiveSync 3.8 installation software. Use this version if you are using the fex21 or the Juniper Allegro Field PC (Dual-boot).
- ActiveSync 4.5 (03/23/2012, 7.5M) - Microsoft's ActiveSync 4.5, synchronization software for Windows Mobile-based handheld devices.
- Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package - Microsoft's website for the .NET Framework version 2.0 redistributable package. This is required to run ExamsPC's Database Loader feature.
- vcredist_x86.exe (03/23/2012, 1.7M) - This Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package installs runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries required to run ExamsPC's Database Loader. This is required for ExamsDbLoader to work with ExamsPC v02.15.2010.3 and newer.
