Lake Tahoe Basin Mgt Unit NEPA Projects

Projects are proposed actions that are analyzed through the NEPA process (EIS, EA, or CE) that involves analyzing different alternatives to the proposed action, requires public notice and comment, and results in a NEPA decision (ROD, DN, or DM) which, subject to an administrative appeals process, and is implemented on the ground. The Forest Projects below are projects that we are analyzing or have analyzed under the NEPA process. Projects that are "Developing Proposal" or "Under Analysis" may have an opportunity for public collaboration and input on the proposed actions and the analysis being conducted.

Developing Proposal

Incline Lake Dam Project

The goal of this project is to improve public safety and provide a sustainable hydrologic system. The proposed action is still being developed.

Under Analysis

Camp Richardson Resort Campgrounds and Vehicle Circulation BMP Retrofit EA

An EA associated with proposed water quality, safety, utility and accessibility retrofits and vehicle circulation for campground areas and parking areas within the resort.

Incline Fuels Reduction and Healthy Forest Restoration Project

Vegetation and fuels treatments within the wildland urban interface directly adjacent to the community of Incline Village in Nevada. Treatments include a combination of tree thinning, biomass removal, prescribed burning, chipping, and mastication.

Meeks Creek Watershed Restoration

Restoration of Meeks Meadow ecosystem through Lodgepole pine encroachment removal, prescribed burning and debris removal.

North Shore Commercial Outfitter-Guide Special Use Permit Extension

To reissue special use permit TAH405001 for 10 years.

Analysis Completed

Carnelian Fuels Reduction and Healthy Forest Restoration Project

Combination of mechanical, hand, and prescribed burning treatments to reduce surface fuels and conifer density within the WUI surrounding communities of Cedar Flat, Carnelian Bay, Tahoe Vista, and Kings Beach.

Heavenly 2013 Summer Project

Additional summer uses in the Adventure Peak area at the top of the Gondola such as a new climbing wall, ziplines, canopy tour, adventure course and aerial challenge park are proposed by Heavenly Mountain Resort.

South Shore Fuels Reduction and Healthy Forest Restoration Project

Vegetation and fuels treatment in urban defense zones.Treatments may include thinning of live trees and brush, chipping, mastication, pilling and prescribed burning.
