This project will evaluate current livestock management on the Featherville Sheep and Goat (S&G) Allotment. The Featherville S&G Allotment encompasses approximately 146,525 acres of which about 142,800 acres of National Forest System (NFS) land and 3,725 acres are non-Nation Forest System land. The Forest Service would only permit and administer grazing activities on NFS land. The proposed action would authorize continued livestock grazing with variable numbers and a variable season within the following 2,950 ewe/lambs from May 20 to August 20, annually and 3,750 ewes from May 21 to September 30, annually (12,240 Head Months). In addition about 5 horses/mules would be authorized from May 20 to September 30 to facilitate permittee operations.
Location Summary
The allotment lies within the South Fork Boise River drainage above Anderson Ranch Dam, the Middle Fork Boise River drainage, and Anderson Ranch Reservoir drainage
