Taos Ski Valley's 2010 Master Development Plan - Phase 1 Proposed Projects
On August 23, 2012, the Forest Service authorized Taos Ski Valley to develop 2 new chairlifts, 2 new gladed runs, a snowtubing area, mtn biking & snowshoeing trails, & a new drop-off at the base area, as well as, replace 3 chairlifts & reconfigure several parking lots within its current special use permit boundary. A Notice of Availability for the draft EIS was published in the Federal Register on January 13, 2012. See below for documents prepared to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

TSV is a downhill ski area located in the Sangre de Cristo Mtns, about 20 miles NE of Taos, NM, at the terminus of SR 150, on the Rio Hondo, in Taos Co.

This decision is subject to appeal under the Forest Service's appeal regulations at 36 CFR 215. Information on who can appeal and how to appeal is described in the Record of Decision. The Final EIS supplements specific analyses, corrects errors, and clarifies discussions.

Response to Comments for TSV's Master Development Plan - Phase 1 Projects Draft EIS (PDF 238kb) Approximately 130 comment letters were received from various federal & state agencies, tribes, special interest groups, & individuals. Comment letters were reviewed by an interdisciplinary team & comments were organized by topic. Relevant specialists prepared responses to these comments, which were compiled and included in this document. Responses to comments included changing or supplementing the EIS, providing clarification, or conducting additional analysis and literature reviews.
