The laboratory staff has developed a number of software programs specifically for U.S. wood products manufacturers. The programs listed on this site have been compressed using the WinZip utility. All software packages are free of charge.

Sawmill and Rough Mill Software

Name	Description
OPTIGRAMI Version 2.0	OPTIGRAMI determines the least-cost lumber grade mix required to produce a given cutting order for clear parts from rough lumber of known grades in a crosscut-first rough mill operation.
ROMI-3.0 Beta	The ROMI 3 rough mill simulator allows users to examine many aspects of rip-first and chop-first processing, including: grade mix, arbor design, optimization, cutting bill, panels, moulding, and much more.
UGRS	UGRS (Ultimate Grading and Remanufacturing System) is a lumber grading simulation software package.

Name	Description
COST-2005, Version 1	COST (Cost of Sawing Timber) computes the annual operating cost of sawmill operations (based on user-defined inputs).
Financial Ratio Analysis (FRAN), Version 2	FRAN allows forest products enterprises to view their financial and operating ratios, and important measures of business activity, based on user inputs.
Just Enough Fine Financial Information (JEFFI), Version 3	JEFFI is a cash flow analysis program that provides a quick, first look at investment potential.
Pallet Costing System (PCS), Version 1	PCS calculates the total cost and per unit cost of manufacturing an order of wood pallets.
