Agricultural ground limestone was applied in October 1990 and November 1992 at the rate of 3 tons per acre to the 11.3-acre riparian zone around the stream. The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the possibility of reducing the acidity of streamwater by applying lime to the watershed it drains. The effects of this liming treatment on streamflow and soil chemistry are still being studied.
