About Us
INTRODUCTION
In order to better protect and sustain natural resources throughout the United States,
research is conducted by the Forest Service through a network of forest and range
experiment stations as well as a Forest Products Laboratory. The USDA Forest
Service is the worlds leading forestry research and conservation organization.
The Research and Development branch of the Forest Service focuses on sustaining the
health, productivity and diversity of the Nation's forests and rangelands.
Research Work Unit NE-4751 is a field unit located in Morgantown, West Virginia. It is an extension of the Northeastern Research Station based
in the Philadelphia suburb of Newtown Square. The mission of the Northeastern Research
Station is to develop and deliver knowledge and innovative technology to manage and protect,
use and sustain the natural resources of the region's forests.
The Northeastern Research Station encompasses 13 northeastern
states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New
Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island,
Vermont and West Virginia.
ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
The research unit is supervised by Dr. Chris B. LeDoux, Supervisory
Industrial Engineer, and has one computer programmer, Toni Jones.
The unit's goals and accomplishments are met by this team and a host of
cooperators who assist or conduct related studies to the research areas/
problems that this research unit focuses on.
