For states on a 7-year cycle, why are you reporting every 5 years?
The original 1998 Farm Bill called for a 5-year cycle for data collection and stated that reports should come out on a 5-year cycle as well. However, the 1999 FIA Strategic Plan changed this and called instead for a 7-year cycle in the East and a 10-year cycle in the West, but the 5-year reporting cycle remained. We would like feedback on interest for changing the reporting cycle to match the measurement cycle. If so, the new Strategic Plan will be changed to reflect customer needs.
This version will likely be the last external review prior to finalizing the plan in August or September. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. You can either send your comments directly to Greg Reams, Washington Office Staff Assistant for the National FIA Program, or to Chip Scott, NE-FIA Program Manager. The deadline is July 15th.
