Sawtimber Volume Definition
Net volume, expressed in board feet of sawtimber trees containing at least one 12-foot sawlog or two 8-foot noncontiguous sawlogs that are at least one-third sound from a 1-foot stump to a minimum 7.0-inch top diameter outside bark for softwoods or a 9.0-inch top for hardwoods, or to the point where a sawlog cannot be produced.
