Goal

Provide a systematic and comprehensive system for ensuring quality information.

Definition

The QA/QC program will include documentation of field measurements, training and certification of field crews, perfomance of hot and cold checks of field measurements, documentation of compilation procedures, peer review of estimation procedures and reports, and continuous feedback mechanisms for NERS-FIA clients.

Implementation

• Field foresters must pass a series of checks by Field Supervisors to become “certified” in order to measure NE-FIA sample locations.

• Approximately 4% of field sample locations will be measured independently by other NE-FIA field crews, and an additional 3% will be checked by Field Supervisors (for a total of about 7%).
