WebDET / WinDET Requirements

Step 1(State Users Only) – Verify who your state administrator is and that he/she has a WebDET account (each state is required to have at least 1 WebDET user - typically fulfilling the role of state administrator)

Step 2 - Obtain a Level 2 eAuthentication account - provides access to WebDET and the BASE Help Desk for WebDET and WinDET (NOTE: all federal users should already have a Level 2 eAuthentication account)

Step 3

New users fulfilling the State Administrator role need to complete the following forms and mail to the National Administrator for processing:

a. Complete PIN form and fax or email to the national Forest Stewardship Program Manager (see form for instructions)
b. Complete NDA and ROB forms and mail with original signatures to the National Administrator (see forms for mailing address)
c. Complete Conditional Release of WinDET Form – this form will be faxed to the State Administrator upon receipt of the above forms (if a state is using only WebDET, this form is not required)

New users fulfilling roles other than State Administrator complete the following forms for processing:

WebDET

a. Complete WebDET One time use PIN (OTP) form - state users fax or email to your State Administrator and federal users fax to the national Forest Stewardship Program Manager (see form for instructions). Upon approval, the state administrator/national Forest Stewardship Program Manager forwards to National Administrator for processing
b. Complete NDA and ROB forms and mail with original signatures to the National Administrator (see forms for mailing address)

WinDET

a. Complete WinDET Software Request form - state users fax or email to your State Administrator and federal users fax to the national Forest Stewardship Program Manager (see form for instructions). Upon approval, the state administrator/national Forest Stewardship Program Manager forwards to National Administrator for processing
b. Complete NDA and ROB forms and mail with original signatures to the National Administrator (see forms for mailing address)

  NOTE: The most important prerequisite is if the computer WinDET is being installed on also has ArcGIS Desktop (any license level), then your ArcGIS Desktop software must be version 9.2, Service Pack 3 or 9.3, Service Pack 1. Beyond that prerequisite, the following also applies:

  
  
  1. If running ArcGIS (ArcView License), you must install WinDET and the ArcEngine runtime (9.2 or 9.3 as noted above) with license.
     
     
  2. If running ArcGIS (ArcEditor or ArcInfo License), you must install WinDET only.
     
     
  3. If not running any ESRI Desktop product, you must install WinDET and the ArcEngine Runtime with license (provided with WinDET).
