WebDET
Administered by USDA Forest Service, implemented and delivered by state forestry agencies, WebDET will allow field foresters, working with private landowners, to prepare Forest Stewardship Management Plans, record contact and other attribute information of the plan property, track plan implementation accomplishments, and spatially display and analyze plan locations and associated activities.
A national web based data entry and report writing geodatabase tool designed to support the Forest Stewardship Program, WebDET is accessible through a web browser without the need for desktop GIS software or software expertise and is an extension of the Spatial Analysis Project.

WinDET
WinDET is an extension to the web based tool, WebDET. It is a desktop (runtime) application that allows non-technical users to run an interface that mimics the preparation of Forest Stewardship Management Plan functionality of WebDET, using packaged software specifically and solely intended for this use. This stand-alone application runs on a personal computer, independent of the internet.
The target audience includes state stewardship coordinators, private contractors, and other state staff writing forest stewardship plans for non-industrial private forest landowners, who do not have access to adequate telecommunication connections or for some other reason choose not to access WebDET as a web based tool. WinDET will ONLY mimic the plan preparer capabilities of WebDET.
