The Mid-Atlantic Center for Urban Forestry is
a partnership between the USDA Forest Service; Keystone College;
and the States of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania,
West Virginia and the District of Columbia and their respective
State Foresters.
The Center receives financial and technical
support from the USDA Forest Service, Northeastern Area, State
& Private Forestry to address natural resource issues and opportunities,
focus efforts and maximize impacts of urban and community forestry
programs in the Mid-Atlantic States. The Center for Urban Forestry,
located at Keystone College, La Plume, Pennsylvania, responds
to needs of the Mid-Atlantic States. The Center communicates
and disseminates leading edge technologies and resources and
research that promote the health of the urban forest. It strives
to build partnerships, promotes awareness of technical assistance
and use of new technologies that address current needs of urban
and community forestry programs in the Mid-Atlantic States.
- Supports the delivery of programs to assist
in insuring the ecological and natural resource needs of the
urban forest are met.
- Collaborates with a broad range of partners
and specialists to assure sustainable use of the urban forest.
- Facilitates and communicates innovative technologies
and cooperative programs having beneficial applications to
urban and community forestry.
- Assists with congressional operations, marketing
and promotion to emerging urban forestry issues applications
