Getting to Midewin

Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie is situated 40 miles southwest of Chicago, in Will County, at the confluence of the Des Plaines, Kankakee, and Illinois Rivers.

Roadmaps printed before 1997 will still show this site as the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant.

The Midewin staff offices are located on the east side of the road on Illinois Route 53.

A renovated brick farmhouse serves temporarily as Midewin's Administrative Center.
