Location: 86 miles southeast of St. Maries, ID on Forest Road 218
Attractions: Located on the St. Joe Wild and Scenic River
Fee: $60/night
Capacity: 8 maximum
Availability: Memorial Day weekend to September 30th.
Length of Stay: Maximum of three nights.
Reserving the cabin: Due to the high demand for the Red Ives Cabin, the St. Joe Ranger District has initiated a lottery system for reservations. Please print, complete, and mail the lottery application to the St. Joe Ranger District. Lottery applications must be received by the Forest Service before the end of February - see the application form for the specific date. You must be over 18 years of age to enter. Dates remaining open following the lottery will be available on a first-come basis.

Remarks: Bring drinking water. 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, bathroom; propane cookstove and refrigerator; hot water, flush toilet, shower; heat and lights via generator. Absolutely no pets.
Directions from Avery, Idaho:
Follow paved Forest Highway 50 (St. Joe River Road) 29 miles east. Turn right (south) on Red Ives Road #218 and travel 10 miles to the Red Ives Ranger Station. The Red Ives Road is a narrow one-lane road with turn-outs.
Directions St. Regis, Montana:
Follow the two-lane gravel Little Joe Road #282 to the top of Gold Pass where it is a two-lane paved road and the number changes to Forest Highway 50. Follow FH 50 to the junction with Red Ives Road #218. Travel 10 miles along the narrow one-lane Road #218 to the Red Ives Ranger Station. The total mileage from St. Regis to Red Ives is 39 miles.
Directions from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho:
Via St. Regis, Montana - Go east on Interstate 90. Take the St. Regis, Montana exit, go through the town of St. Regis. Take a left at the four-way stop and follow the directions from St. Regis (see above)
Via St. Maries, Idaho - Go to St. Maries, Idaho, and take FH 50 to Avery, Idaho. Then follow the directions from Avery (see above).
