After filling your bucket, the sifting station is your next stop. Here, much of the silt is sifted out leaving mostly garnet-bearing gravel in your sieve.

Next stop - sluice! It's a dirty business and the water can be cold. Some folks find lined rubber gloves helpful here to rub the dirt and silt off of the gravels.
