MARTINEZ Forest Supervisor FSH 6709.12 - SAFETY AND HEALTH PROGRAM HANDBOOK LNF SUPPLEMENT 6709.12-99-1 Effective July 16, 1998 CHAPTER 10 - SAFETY AND HEALTH PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION 12 - SAFETY AND HEALTH COMMITTEES 12.1 - Function. The Forest Safety Committee will report directly to the Forest Supervisor. In the absence of the Forest Supervisor, the committee reports directly to the Safety Manager or the Acting Forest Supervisor. The LNF Safety Committee will have responsibility for the following: 1. Review and update the Forest Safety and Health Plan annually. 2. Review and provide guidance for Functional Safety Plans. 3. Review accidents to determine adequacy of the investigation process. 4. Advise the Forest Supervisor on accident/injury trends and make recommendations for corrective action. 5. Sponsor annual First Aid/CPR and Driver Safety training. 6. As a team, conduct a workplace safety assessment of a District office or the Supervisor's Office and one Administrative Site per year. 7. Update the annual LNF Safety and Health Award Program; purchase and distribute the awards. 12.2 - Committee Membership. The LNF Safety Committee shall consist of the following members: Forest Safety and Health Officer (Forest Supervisor) Forest Safety and Health Manager (Fire Staff Officer) Forest Safety and Health Coordinator (Collateral Duty) District Safety and Health Coordinators Forest OWCP/APMC Coordinator Forest Fleet Manager 12.3 - Committee Advisors. The Committee can seek assistance from any person on the Forest when necessary. The following is a list of advisors that will make themselves available to attend the Safety Committee meetings when their expertise is needed: Forest Leadership Team Pesticide Coordinator Hazmat Officer Search and Rescue Coordinator Personnel Officer Administrative Officer 12.4 - Committee Meetings. The Committee shall meet quarterly or more often, if necessary.
