Media Information For Immediate Release Grey Towers National Historic Landmark Information Contact: Lori McKean Telephone: (570) 296-9630 lmckean@fs.fed.us August 26, 2011 Release #19-11 Tree ID Walk Planned for September 17 at Grey Towers MILFORD, PA – A guided walk and talk about the trees on the grounds of Grey Towers National Historic Site, 122 Old Owego Turnpike, Milford, PA, is planned for Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 1:30 pm. US Forest Service staff will lead participants throughout the estate on a 90-minute walk to identify and provide some history about many of the native and unique trees planted at the estate in the early 1900s. The Pinchot family planted more than 100 trees on the grounds after it was clear- cut around the turn of the century. Today the estate is a living example of conservation and resource management. Please dress for the weather (the walk is rain or shine) and wear appropriate footwear for uneven terrain. Regular tour fees ($6 adults; $5 seniors; $3 youth; under 12 free) apply for this guided walk and participants have the option of touring the mansion for half-price following the walk.
