Media Information For Immediate Release Grey Towers National Historic Landmark Information Contact: Lori McKean Telephone: (570) 296-9630 Release #13-11 Fee-Free Day on FOURTH OF JULY at Grey Towers MILFORD, PA – Come celebrate our nation’s birthday on July 4, 2011, as the US Forest Service offers a fee-free day at Grey Towers National Historic Site, Milford, PA. The US Forest Service will waive all admission fees for the day as a way to commemorate Independence Day and to bring attention to the national role that Grey Towers and the Pinchot family played in the introduction of natural resource conservation to America. Grey Towers will be open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm on the Fourth of July. Forest Service staff will offer a unique insight into the conservation contributions made by the Pinchot family and how they utilized the Grey Towers estate as their family home until 1963, when it was donated to the US Forest Service. Additional fee-free days during the 2011 season include Thursday, August 11, Gifford Pinchot’s birthday (there may be some singing involved) and Saturday, Sept. 24, National Public Lands Day (there will definitely be some free ice cream involved.)
