Disabled HuntingContent Updated - October 29, 2007 The program that set aside a
few specific roads exclusively for disabled hunters on the Gifford Pinchot
National Forest is discontinued starting with the 2007 hunting season.
The Forest continues to be open to all hunters and legal hunting modes,
and much of the Forest is accessible on the existing open road system.
Follow this link to an online
map of roads that have an open character and are in known elk areas.
Closed roads - Roads that are signed closed, whether the gate is closed or not, are still closed to motorized entry.
Stop Washington State Poaching! The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, Enforcement Program has instituted an on-line reporting page for fish/wildlife violations. This information encourages any citizen who witnesses a fish and wildlife offense to report the violation. Individuals that witness and would like to report a violation, may call toll-free 1-800-477-6224, or you can report the violation via an online email form. (On-going violations needing immediate response should be phoned in to insure prompt response). Reports are confidential and are forwarded to a Fish & Wildlife Officer for investigation. Violator information that leads to an arrest, could be eligible for a cash reward ($50 for fish and $100 for wildlife), or hunting bonus points (10 points). Hunting bonus points give you a better chance for the special permit season. (Note: Depending on the case, you could receive a reward of up to $500.) Anyone witnessing a violation of game laws is encouraged to report the incident to the Washington Department of Fish and wildlife enforcement branch.
