By forging strong partnerships, Wings Across the Americas addresses the national and international needs of priority species and habitats, including stopover sites along flyways.
For example, if the endangered Kirtland Warbler (breeds only in Michigan and winters in the Bahamas) needs assistance on wintering habitat, Wings Across the Americas can help by providing specific research expertise and training in monitoring and managing areas for conservation in cooperation with local partners as well as working in partnership with conservation groups and Federal, State, and local agencies to address funding, research, and management needs in the breeding area.
Western Hummingbird Partnership
The US Forest Service (FS) is working
with partners to develop and implement the Western Hummingbird Partnership (WHP), which will address hummingbird
conservation issues in western North America.
