Every year, the Forest Service recognizes outstanding work by Forest Service personnel and their conservation partners in conserving birds, bats, butterflies and dragonflies.

Awards may be given in five categories: 1) Research and Management Partnership Award; 2) Habitat Conservation Partnership Award; 3) International Cooperation Award; 4) Bat, Butterfly or Dragonfly Conservation Award. 5) Urban Communities in Conservation Award. An award may or may not be given in each category each year.
